As an Admin user, you can view, create and manage IP addresses that users can access Atlas from. To set this up, you'll need the IP address to add to the allowlist and a description to identify it.

Add IP address to allowlist

Click on the Add New IP Allowlist + button. You will then see the form below to complete.

Only admin users can view, add and manage IP addresses in the allowlist.

The accepted IP types and notations include:

  • IPv4

  • IPv6

    • It can be in expanded or compressed format

    • It can be in uppercase or lowercase

  • CIDR

Once an IP address has been added, it may take up to 5 minutes for the changes to take effect.

There is an allow list validation that protects against losing Atlas access. Please add the first IP address/CIDR range that your machine belongs to, then you can add other CIDR or IP addresses.

511 error

Users will see a 511 "Network authentication required" error message if attempting to access Atlas from an IP address that's not on the allowlist.

Remove IP from table

Click the X button next to the IP address, then click OK to confirm removal.
