Analysis

In-Depth view of your traffic, including mitigation statistics and top threat sources

What is this report for…

This report provides an in-depth view of your mitigated and unmitigated traffic. The report shows an overview of how much has been mitigated, traffic patterns over time, a breakdown of the sources of threats and the effect of mitigation actions. Sources of threat traffic is split out in IPs, Data Centers, Countries, User Agents and Categories. You can also get information on which of these dimensions your traffic is being mitigated on, and also get stats on Captcha efficacy.

The data in this report is on a more granular level than that within the Threats Overview dashboard, and thus gives you a more detailed view on specific activity. With most datasets you can look at up to 7 days at one time.

You are able to filter on any data point within the report to drill down into areas of interest, and you can search on any of these dimensions should you wish to get further details on a specific org, IP, UA etc.

Any of these dimensions can be also selected to view a more detailed threat report via the More Info function.

This will help you to easily identify…

  1. Biggest sources of both threat & legitimate traffic

  2. Breakdown of traffic from a wide range of different dimensions

  3. Searching for a specific IP to understand its behaviour across your site

  4. Searching for a specific time period to get a breakdown of attack activity

  5. Single out any sources of threats that need to be added to your threat list

Dimensions you can filter on…

  • Date Ranges

  • Category

  • IP

  • Data Center

  • User Agent

  • Country

  • ASN

  • Visitor

Controls

Controls are a great way of filtering the report to highlight and segment only the information you need to see

These can be managed by:

  1. Using the Date Range Picker and Datastream selection controls to filter by time and datastream

  2. Using the Control Panel dropdown to insert the parameters you need

  3. Clicking on the report itself to select and segment

Control Name

Options

Date range

Lets you choose your timeframe to report on

Datastream

Select the datastreams to report on

Categories

Dropdown to select one of your defined categories or path groups (eg Login, Search, Checkout)

IP, Data Center, User Agent & Country

With each of these dimensions, you can either search for a specific known item, or you can select one from the relevant tables or pie charts in the dashboard

ASN

Search for a specific ASN

Visitor

Search for a specific Visitor ID

For example you can search for a specific IP you have had a query about or false positive report for and see a breakdown of its activity

Click on the Report

As an alternative to looking up a known data point, you can also directly interact with the report. By clicking on the values you want to see, this will automatically add the value to your Control, to filter on. This is not limited to a single value but could, as in the below example, include traffic from a particular DC and a particular country.

Any dimension that is viewable in the portal can be filtered on, to get more information on the specific traffic patterns, traffic levels and behaviours observed.

More Info

If additional information is required, then users have the option of right-clicking on any of the plots to go through to the 'More Info' section of the portal.

This will open a new tab within your browser, where you can see more details about traffic coming from a particular country, DC, UA and so on. All of these plots are expandable and exportable, allowing you to conduct your analysis in as much detail as is required.
